I started with IOL cataract surgery with Dr. Lillian Yang of ECI, perfect job, wonderful job. Then I wanted to change the distance in one eye and did LASIK surgery with Dr. Daniel Rich also of ECI, and also a perfect, wonderful job. These are BOARD CERTIFIED experts in their field and they know their stuff, big time! And they are nice and you can pay more elsewhere, believe it or not! This is the place!

On May 26, 2020, I called this firm to schedule an appt for my wife who was having a left eye problem where she could not see with clarity. I explained to the woman that my wife has Kaiser, and has already had her maximum one eye exam, and we are now a cash purchaser. The woman stated the cost would be $150 to $200.00. With that info, I brought my wife onto the conference call and booked an appt for May 28, 2020. A doctor examined my wife's eyes, dilated her eyes, and did not use the Phoropter to measure her visual component (no prescription). This exam was worth $150.00. My wife arrived at the check out desk after the exam and was told $279.00. My wife was not thinking clearly, could not see well with her eyes fully dilated and was confused by this fee. She was handed a receipt, and she asked for an itemized bill, and the office refused to provide this to her. She arrived at our car in the parking lot, and I am immediately contested this this bill, explaining that I was told $150 to $200. They would not give me an itemized bill either after requesting it. I was told that a Manager would contact me that day and waited in the parking to with a hope of immediate resolution. Arianna explained that she would contact me the next day, May 29, 2020. At 4 pm, on May 29th, with no phone call, I called her. I was told that she went into a meeting (conveniently) and was unavailable. I called again on Monday, and she called me. She explained that her meeting went until 6 pm. I shared "Why didn't you call me before your meeting, as you had all day, or after your meeting at 6 pm. Why are you avoiding me." We went round and round and I explained to her that I was in a customer service field as a Firefighter/Engineer for the city of Santa Rosa (retired) and I am in another customer service field as a Mortgage Lender and this level of service is poor. I further explained that the bait and switch of charging $279 when I was told $150 to $200 was unacceptable. Further, I shared that the person who booked the appt was the one that told me the cost. She said she asked that person and she is denying that she told me this. I explained that your company now has bigger problems because this person is not truthful. I requested a conference call with Arianna (manger) and the woman who booked out appt so I could recount and recap what was said. Arianna refused. The eye exam was not complete, only main components of the exam were completed. I told Arianna this was worth $150. We settled at $200.00. I am disappointed of their level of customer service, the fact that a team member would fib and call a customer untruthful (presumably) and that this was mishandled. I requested a detailed (itemized) bill, and have yet to receive one. They sent another receipt. I did receive $79 check refund, so my bill is not $200.00. I will never return to this company based on the events that took place and the challenges I faced in their honesty, truthfulness and lacking of service to resolve.

I found Eye Care Institute to have a careing staff. They made me feel comfortable and took really great care of me. They handle emergencies great and quickly 24/7. My surgeries went smoothly and my concerns were addressed quickly. I would recommend ECI to anyone having eye care surgery needs. I just wish I could get all my eye care there and not have to go back to my regular eye doctor for the new glasses. My surgeon was and if need be in the future Dr. Lillian Yang.

The Eye Care Institute iin Santa Rosa, CA is a wonderful place to go for yearly eye exams and eye issues. The staff at the 2nd street office and the 4th street surgery center are wonderful. Dr. Lillian Yang was my physician who took care of my cataracts and fixed my distance vision issues. I chose to have laser surgery. My vision has so much improved, and I can finally drive at night time again. The lights no longer bother me. There are a lot of eye physician at this place. You won't be disappointed.

This eye care office is the best I have experienced .The equipment is calibrated daily. Each technician was caring and thorough.The technician who gave the majority of the tests, Dan, was exceptional. Dr Robert Anderson was also the best eye doctor I have seen in years. He evaluated the results carefully and gave me his opinion regarding my vision needs. If you want honest, accurate information on the health of your eyes, this is the doctor to see. He was referred by Best Doctors as part of their consultation service.I had seem two specialists in San Francisco whose offices were packed with patients, unhappy staff, uncalibrated equipment, and misdiagnosed my vision which would have lead to unnecessary surgeries. Dr Barth is outstanding!!!!! I had cataracts in both eyes. Dr Barth very clearly explained three types of surgery I could have. One was covered by Medicare and he said it would be perfectly adequate. A second was only partially covered by Medicare and would cost me $2,100 per eye but was much superior to what Medicare offered, and he recommended it IF I could afford it. The 3rd option was closer to $3,500 an eye and he said he did not think it was a good option for me even though I could easily afford it. So he saved me $2,800 total; an honest guy!!!!! And the surgery was a piece of cake in all regards, quick and painfree. I was totally satisfied with the pre-op and post-op appointments too. My vision is 20/20 now :-) I highly recommend Dr Barth!

I would give Dr. Abramson no stars if possible! Bruce Abramson misdiagnosed me and as a result I had to undergo major eye surgery to prevent TOTAL Blindness!!! He RUSHED through the Exam and completely missed it even though it was obvious. My eye is permanently damaged as a result of his misdiagnosis and my eyesight will never be the same.He has NEVER apologized for what he did to me...what made this whole nightmare even worse was my husband was dying while I was recovering from this Major surgery and that made the little time I had left with him compromised.

My wife had a very poor experience. She had a very bad eye infection, glued shut each morning, itchy and very red. Dr. Wong saw her for 5 minutes, scratched inside her eye with a metal instrument, told her she didn't have an infection, and that she could either wait and see if the stye went away or come back for surgery. My wife came home with her eye much worse after the scratching, with no solution to her problem. Would never go back or recommend this doctor to anyone.

Absolute nightmare and I will make it a priority to tell everyone I contact not to come here. I came in for a contact lens prescription renewal. I was told my insurance would cover it. The Dr spent about 10 mins with me and copied my old prescription but left out the brand name. So I go to Costco and waited 45 mins while Costco tried to get the Dr to update the prescription with the brand name. Surprise! I get a $35 bill in the mail. Tricare paid the Dr almost $200 and sent me a statement saying the amount the Dr can bill me is Zero. I called repeatedly trying to void this bill because of my disatisfaction and the fact nothing the Dr did deserves another $35 from me. The billing is outsourced to a collection firm in Illinois and when that became a hassle, I decided to just pay it vice go into collections and a credit battle. If the Dr reaches out to me to correct this, I will. Otherwise, if you read this you can assume I am still angry with this business and they have made no attempt to make this right.

My recent cataract surgery at ECI was one of the best health care experiences I've had. My surgery was elective, since my cataracts were not very advanced, but I wanted to have lens replacement to reduce my reliance on glasses. The result of the surgery is that I'm now totally free of glasses, even for reading. Dr. Barth, my surgeon, is a kind, compassionate, and attentive doctor. He even called me in the evening after my surgery to see how I was doing. The staff that I interacted with at ECI, including office personnel, medical technicians, and nurses, were all competent, caring, and efficient professionals. Thanks, Dr. Barth and staff at ECI.

They made wonderful glasses for me but when I called to ask to get a copy of my last order they said they only keep patient records for a short time. That is so strange!!!! Data these days costs almost nothing and they just toss customer records in the junk instead of keeping on file for the next purchase.

I was recently sent to Memorial Emergency room by an urgent care facility for a completely dilated, non reactive pupil. Upon arrival I was immediately sent to the Dr. Rich at the Eye Care Institute. The front desk staff and assistant that did my initial exam were excellent. Dr. Rich spent a total of five minutes with me. He was dismissive, spoke over me, and continually interrupted me. He didn't answer a single question I had. When my primary doctor followed up with him regarding his diagnosis, he interrupted her, spoke over her and in her words "insulted my intelligence and abilities as a doctor". I canceled my follow up appointment with Dr. Rich and won't be returning.

I have been to the eye care institute three times. The front desk staff are very friendly and helpful. Overtime I have scheduled it takes a couple of months to get an appointment and they do not have a waiting list. When I come in for appointments I have been waiting for the doctor for a minimum of 1/2 hour and sometimes longer. The staff that performs the tests have always been extremely helpful and kind. When I met with Dr. Wong she did not even look at me while speaking to me until she began to look at my eye. She gives me instructions without checking to see what my response is to her decision. I have decided to look for eye care from a practice who respects my time and treats me like a person rather than a specimen. Just for the record I have heard Dr. Barth is an amazing doctor, but that his practice is currently closed to new patients.

My recent cataract surgery at ECI was one of the best healthcare experiences I've had. My surgery was elective since my cataracts were not very advanced, but I wanted to have lens replacement to reduce my reliance on glasses. The result of the surgery is that I'm now totally free of glasses, even for reading. My surgeon is a kind, compassionate, and attentive doctor. He even called me in the evening after my surgery to see how I was doing. The staff that I interacted with at ECI, including office personnel, medical technicians, and nurses, were all competent, caring, and efficient professionals. Thanks, ECI.
