Education
My undergraduate degree is from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I subsequently earned a MS in Physiology from the University of California - Davis and a Doctor of Optometry at the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry. I am a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and the Scleral Lens Education Society.
Professional Focus
Contact Lenses are my passion and I have over 30 years of expertise in fitting specialty contact lenses, including the latest computer designed scleral lenses. I am often challenged with hard to fit cases referred to me by colleagues and it is extremely rewarding to be able to help these patients. In addition to being a founding board member of the Pacific Laser Eye Center, I enjoy co-managing LASIK candidates who are eager to eliminate contacts and glasses.
Community ophthalmology allows me to assist those less fortunate who are in need of eye care. I established the Vision Clinic at the Santa Rosa Community Health Center and continue to participate in delivering vision care to this underserved population. As a result of my community activism, I have been awarded:
- California Optometric Association, Young Optometrist of the Year
- American Optometric Association, Optometric Recognition Award
- Health Leadership Award, Southwest Community Health Centers
