- General ophthalmology
Professional Focus:
As a general ophthalmologist I enjoy seeing patients of all ages who have a variety of eye care needs. My goal with each patient is to communicate effectively and work together to optimize his or her eye health. I have a special interest in international eye care. In the past, I have volunteered as a physician in many developing countries with both Project ORBIS and SEVA. In May of 2009, I attended an international ophthalmology meeting in Indonesia and shared ideas with eye doctors from all over the world. Such experiences, as well as my daily interactions with patients, keep me feeling enthusiastic about my work.
Personal Interests:
I met my husband for the first time in Oaxaca, Mexico, where he was creating his first children’s book with a local artist. He has written several other children’s books, runs a publishing company called Tortuga Press, and is a professional speaker. Our fourteen-year-old son would rather be playing tennis than doing most anything else. My interests include travel, playing jazz piano, yoga, swimming, and speaking and reading novels in Spanish.
