What is JUVÉDERM® XC?
In response to enthusiastic patient requests to expand our cosmetic services, ECI now offers wrinkle-reducing dermal fillers. JUVÉDERM® XC, the most popular dermal filler in the US, is a smooth-consistency clear gel that is the naturally hydrating substance found abundantly in young, healthy-looking skin. It is injected mostly in the lower face to smooth wrinkles commonly referred to as “parentheses lines” and “marionette lines” around the nose and mouth. JUVÉDERM® XC adds natural-feeling deep skin volume to soften wrinkles.
Similar to BOTOX® injections, the JUVÉDERM® XC dermal filler injections have a very high safety profile and can be performed during a short office visit with minimal down time. The newer generation formulation of JUVÉDERM® XC contains a common anesthetic, providing a more comfortable patient experience during and after treatment. Neither procedure carries the higher risk of bruising and complications associated with the more traditional surgical “facelifts”. Since patients are awake during the procedure, they can even provide input that will help the doctor to contour the wrinkle reduction in a custom fashion. One treatment of JUVÉDERM® XC can provide natural looking wrinkle smoothing effects that may last as long as one year. What are the Safety Considerations for JUVÉDERM® XC?
