YOUR FIRST VISIT
Please plan
to arrive 15 minutes before your appointment so that we can
complete the necessary paperwork and start your exam on time.
For your first visit, please bring:
• Your
glasses (even if they are broken)
• A list of medications and/or eye drops that you take
(or the medication bottles)
• Your
completed patient registration form (if you have not already
mailed it in)
• Your
insurance card or other billing information
If you are
coming for a complete exam, expect to be in the office about
an hour. Your eyes will be checked thoroughly, and you will
have a refraction (an examination for glasses) if necessary.
Your doctor will discuss his or her findings and answer any
questions you have. Drops may be used to dilate your pupils so
that your doctor can get a better view of your eyes. You may
experience sensitivity to bright light and/or blurring of
reading vision for a few hours. For your comfort, we will give
you disposable dark glasses at the end of your exam. For
safety purposes, you may want to arrange for a driver to
transport you home.
FEES AND
PAYMENTS
Fees are
determined by the company providing the service. We will
gladly provide you with a detailed estimate for your visit.
Payment in full (or co-payment or deductible, if applicable)
is expected at time of service. Visa and MasterCard are
accepted.
INSURANCE
ECI is a
participating provider for Medicare and many other insurance
plans. We file insurance claims for office visits and optical

also file insurance claims for all surgical procedures even if
we are not providers for your insurance. Our receptionists
will cheerfully help you with insurance questions.
ACCESS
We have a
parking lot in front of the building for patients, and there
are bus stops nearby. The office is fully accessible to
wheelchairs.
